Rowlett police say a 35-year-old man missing since Feb. 2 has been found.

According to the Rowlett Police Department, Joshua Parker was found on Monday and reunited with his family.

Police said they did not intend to file charges against Joshua Parker and had no plans to make him pay financially for the search for him.

Police said they make decisions about charges on a case-by-case basis and did not feel it was appropriate in this case. They did say where Parker was or how they found him.

The Rowlett Police Department said Parker last messaged his family Feb. 2. His vehicle was discovered at Paddle Point off of Miller Road in Rowlett Tuesday.

According to police, Parker's family said he owns a blue, single person kayak that has not been found.

The Dallas police boat team, game wardens, and the Department of Public Safety 101 did not locate Parker or his kayak on the lake during searches.

Saturday, volunteers joined an organized search party which focused on the area where his vehicle was found.

One of those volunteers was Lee Humphries of Royse City. Humphries told said he did not know Parker, but heard about the efforts through Facebook and felt compelled to help.

Like other volunteers, Humphries took his boat on the lake to search for any clues.

"I’m sure family would love to have closure any type of closure, good or bad," he said. "I just want to at least give my effort to help and do what I can help my fellow man and be a part of the community to help search for people like this."
